SETTING PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

The CIIF will set standards to provide a global reference point for the qualifications and professional development of its members, and in meeting the requirements under these standards, members of the CIIF will be recognised by the industry as meeting the needs of the profession in terms of knowledge and skill in Islamic finance. Being part of the CIIF also means that members subscribe to the CIIF Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.

The standards, supported by accompanying guidelines, are developed by professionals and in close collaboration with industry leaders and experts, making the standards industry-driven relevant and meeting expectation of members of the CIIF.

THE STANDARDS FRAMEWORK

The standards that the CIIF sets will provide the framework for membership, covering areas including:
Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics
Qualification requirements for membership (including maintenance of membership)
Criteria for employers to qualify as providers for the “Executive Development Programme” (EDP)
Other relevant standards.
